Tim Montana’s new album is out, and one of its songs reaches back to the Montana reservations he grew up near. Entire State of Tim Montana came out July 31, 2026, on BMG’s Broken Bow Records, according to Goldmine and Consequence.

The 16 track record has big names on it. Slash and ZZ Top’s Billy F Gibbons play on a cover of the Rolling Stones song “Brown Sugar.” Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell is on “Kinda Like It.” Actors Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen and Robert Patrick open the album on “Courtroom.”

For Montana listeners, the track to hear is “Watch Me Drown.” It features pow wow drum group WolfBear and vocalist First Crazy Dog. Tim Montana told Goldmine the song “is inspired by the Crow Native American reservations I grew up near in Montana,” and that his mother took him to pow wows as a kid.

First Crazy Dog, also known as Cordell Stewart, told Hook and Barrel magazine, as quoted by Goldmine, that the group opened the song with the Victory Chant. “You may watch me drown but you will also watch me rise,” he said of its message.

Tim Montana told Goldmine he listened to metal as a kid “in the trailer park in Kalispell, Montana,” and he recorded the single “Long Long Year” in a cabin in Montana. He and Gibbons co own the Wise River Club, a historic lodge and bar in the Big Hole Valley.

Consequence reported that after summer festival dates, Tim Montana is opening for Alter Bridge on the fall leg of that band’s 2026 U.S. tour.

The album is on Spotify, Bandcamp and other major services.
