Based on public records reviewed Oct. 13, 2026
The Box Elder Public Schools board has a special meeting Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to a notice on the district’s live feed. The district also moved its pumpkin patch activity to the 22nd and canceled a middle school volleyball game against Hays.
None of the three notices is big news by itself. Together they’re the kind of changes families plan rides, work shifts and child care around.
Special board meeting, Oct. 14
The district’s live feed lists a special board meeting for Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. Call the district office at (406) 352-4195 for the time, place and agenda.
A special meeting notice says trustees plan to meet. It isn’t a record of what they decide. The board’s actions will show up in the minutes or an approved summary after the meeting, and families who want to know whether there’s a public comment period should ask the district office ahead of time.
Pumpkin patch moved to the 22nd
The district says the pumpkin patch was rescheduled for the 22nd.
The post also doesn’t say whether the location, transportation or permission slips have changed, or what the original date was. Check with your child’s teacher or the school office.
Middle school volleyball game with Hays canceled
The district’s athletics notice says the middle school volleyball game against Hays has been canceled. The district did not give a reason or a makeup date in its post.
Schedules change for all kinds of reasons, and this story doesn’t guess at this one.
Where to check
The district’s live feed is the first place Box Elder Public Schools posts changes. It also carries the school calendar, sports schedules and other notices for families.
A monthly calendar printed or saved at the start of October can go stale fast. When two notices disagree, go with the newer one, and when you’re not sure, call the school.
Not every family sees the same post at the same time, and not every home on or near Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation has reliable internet. Families who need updates another way can ask the district office what options it offers.
