One of the best known trumpet players in American pop music is playing Billings this weekend. Herb Alpert and his new Tijuana Brass perform at the Alberta Bair Theater on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $82, $66 and $49 plus fees, according to the theater.

What to expect at this Billings concert

The theater says Alpert and six musicians will play the Tijuana Brass hits people remember, including “The Lonely Bull,” “Spanish Flea,” “Taste of Honey,” “Tijuana Taxi,” “This Guy’s in Love With You” and “Rise.” The show also marks the 60th anniversary of the album Whipped Cream and Other Delights, which came out in 1965.

The show runs about 90 minutes and is informal. The theater says Alpert likes to take audience questions about his career, A&M Records and artists he worked with, such as The Carpenters and Burt Bacharach. A big video screen shows photos and video from his career.
