Bozeman indie band Stonefruit’s debut album, Good News Only, which came out in June, drew a new review from the music site Start Track on Oct. 6.
The review calls Stonefruit an indie “dreamgaze” rock band and says the record is built around singer Olivia Langan’s vocals. The album came out June 26, 2026, and the band celebrated with a release show at Tinworks at Rialto in Bozeman the next night.
How Bozeman indie band Stonefruit made the album
The band is from Bozeman, but it recorded the album in November 2025 at The Unknown, an old church in Anacortes, Wash., with producer Ben Roth, according to Indie Boulevard. All ten songs were cut in four days, Start Track reported. The band is Langan on vocals and guitar, Gavin Wallace on bass, Jerry Cannon on lead guitar and Jory Gomez on drums. Langan also did the cover art.
The ten tracks named in the review are:
- Cassie’s House
- Couch Party
- From the Sun
- Butterfly
- Heaven or Nothing
- Friendship Food Mart
- I Can’t Dive
- Toothbath
- Vacation
- To The Dogs
The review lists “Cassie’s House” as the opener and “To The Dogs” as the closer. KHEW has not confirmed the order of the songs in between.
What the review says
Start Track writer Riya describes the album as following a relationship from being afraid of the attraction to giving in almost completely. The review compares Langan’s singing to Phoebe Bridgers. It also hears a lot of Halsey’s album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power in “Heaven or Nothing.” It points out the acoustic strings on “Butterfly” and the grungy drums that open “I Can’t Dive.”
“Toothbath” is the reviewer’s favorite. Start Track embedded that track with its review.
