The Great Falls powwow for November 2026 is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, at the C.M. Russell High School fieldhouse, hosted by the Great Falls Public Schools Indigenous Education Department.

94.5 Max Country reported the event Oct. 6, citing the department’s social media, and a district staff member listed the Nov. 14 date at a September meeting of the Montana Advisory Council on Indian Education. According to the radio report, registration opens at 8:30 a.m., grand entry is at 10 a.m., and a community feed follows.

Great Falls powwow November 2026 schedule

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026
  • Where: C.M. Russell High School fieldhouse (CMR fieldhouse), Great Falls
  • Registration: 8:30 a.m. (per the radio report)
  • Grand entry: 10 a.m. (per the radio report)
  • After: community feed

The powwow is part of the department’s November programs, which the station’s report describes as a celebration of “National Indigenous People’s Month.” The station also reported a Jingle Dress Workshop for students Nov. 12 through 14.

The station’s report did not list a host drum, head staff, contest categories, admission or a public contact. KHEW has not confirmed those details or the times with the department, and readers planning to dance, sing or bring a family should check with the Indigenous Education Department before making the trip. Why it matters on the Hi-Line

KHEW did not find another publicly listed powwow closer to the Hi-Line for this fall when we checked Oct. 13. Great Falls is a long drive from Rocky Boy and Havre, so it’s worth confirming the details before you head south.

The department runs cultural classes and events through the school year for Native students in Great Falls, according to the station’s report. It also marked Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Oct. 12, the first year Montana recognized the day. KHEW covered that here: Montana’s First Indigenous Peoples’ Day Marked Oct. 12.

If your community has a powwow or round dance coming up, send KHEW a public flyer or listing and we will add it to our calendar.
